About Us - The Organisers

The University College London Union Francophone Society was established in 2006 with the aim of promoting and supporting interest within and outside the student population in the French language, history and culture.

Taking an ambitious step forward this year, with the support of the London School of Economics Student Union French Society, the Imperial College French Society and ESSEC, the society endeavours to establish and reinforce new cooperative relationships with other British universities as well as universities and Grandes Écoles in France on a student level. This conference will set the stage for similar events to be organised in the future, bringing together the brightest and most creative minds and personalities on both sides of the Channel onto a shared platform.

Coupled with the society's other activities : French Language Workshops, Film Screenings, our Bilingual Magazine LeMag, and our Spring 2010 production of Ionesco's Rhinocéros, this Franco-British Student Conference underscores the society's goals of encouraging interest in the occasionally ironic beauty that is the French culture.
